I’m currently selling one of my domains on Flippa. I have the luxury of knowing 2 of the bidders, who I feel I can trust. A new bidder has entered the scene, though, and I don’t know him. The question arises: what due diligence can you do on a website buyer?

This short example highlights the importance of using the Wayback Machine when researching sites you might want to buy. I happened by chance on a parked domain with a notice on it saying that it might be for sale. It was a domain in a niche that interested me and ist sported the usual acquirethisname link so I registered my interest with a low bid.
