Once the buyer buys this site, they will still have to put in work to achieve a revenue of $30,000 / month. Naturally, that would be $30,000 worth of work, which is a lot if you are working on your own. In fact, it's a job. The site is merely a mechanism for lead capture, but you still have a job to do (link building) once you get those leads. The revenue won't just roll in because you are in possession on this site. You might decide to outsource the work, because after all, link building is a pretty mind numbing task. But then you will still need to pay for that $30,000 worth of work to be done.
Why pay $100,000 for a job when you could get that same job by getting your name known on Digitalpoint or any of the other webmaster forums that cater to teh link building crowd? Once you do shell out your money and take possession of this marvellous lead capture device, what if you don't get the leads? This site ranks #1 in Google when I search for "link building" but how many people are searching for this phrase? Sadly, Keyword Discovery reports that only 72 searches in the last 12 months were performed for it. Oh dear.
How do we know that the current owner didn't get work to reach their $30,000 / month revenue via other means, for example by advertising their services on webmaster forums? This is assuming that the revenue claims are valid. There is no way to verify that the site played a part in making that revenue.
