Hi Matt

I tend to write my content from scratch, but get a rough guide from what the content used to be about from the Wayback Machine. Often the WBM doesn't have a record of the page in question, but you can usually get a clue about what content you should create based on the page name (how-to-cook-pasta.html, for example), or from the linking pages.

I agree with you that using Wayback to take someone's old content is illegal. I'm pretty new to expired domain name buying so I've been wondering about exactly this kind of thing.

Can I ask what you do to come up with content for that traffic still coming to the expired domain? How closely do you relate your content to the prior owner's content? Do you ask permission to use the prior owner's content, or do you create your own?

I appreciate any nuggets of wisdom you may be able to give! Thanks! :

Good example is if one bank robber robs a bank and then later gets his own money stolen by another armed robber so the first robber's attempt was all for naught.

Kinda funny when you think about it because chances are the (owners) content is not original and he has borrowed it from another source.

Be it background wallpaper/text fonts.etc and it's very rare for a website to be completely original due to so many.

Luckily we have a thing called (Fair Use) though I do admit trying to milk money is taking it too far.
