I tend to write my content from scratch, but get a rough guide from what the content used to be about from the Wayback Machine. Often the WBM doesn’t have a record of the page in question, but you can usually get a clue about what content you should create based on the page name (how-to-cook-pasta.html, for example), or from the linking pages.

Can I ask what you do to come up with content for that traffic still coming to the expired domain? How closely do you relate your content to the prior owner’s content? Do you ask permission to use the prior owner’s content, or do you create your own?
